New Contact Tracing System

As of 1st December 2020, HomePlace is legally required, along with all disability agencies, to implement a COVID Safe Plan with specific features, namely an approved contact tracing system. Our current policies incorporate many of the features in the requirements, but there are now a couple of additional obligations.

One of our obligations is to implement a contact tracing system. We already require that visitors details are recorded at the HomePlace office, and at shared and staffed households. Please make sure to keep this up as these contribute to our contact tracing systems.

In addition, we are required to implement an approved electronic contact tracing system. At the entrance to the HomePlace office is our QR code, which is part of the SA Government’s “Safe Check-In” system. You are now likely to see QR codes at most businesses and services.

In order to use the QR code, you must download the mySA GOV app. You will not need to sign up for a mySA GOV account to use the app.

When you have downloaded the app, you will see that it has a feature called “COVID Safe Check-in”. This will scan the QR code of the business or service you are visiting. In case of a COVID alert, this will enable the SA Health Department to speed up their contact tracing and contain outbreaks. This will be very important for both staff and participants attending activities, appointments and shopping.

It is important that we all continue to keep up with the guidelines that we have been providing.
