Royal Commission
The Australian government has commissioned a Royal Commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.
The Disability Royal Commission will investigate:
- preventing and better protecting people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation
- achieving best practice in reporting, investigating and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability
- promoting a more inclusive society that supports people with disability to be independent and live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

HomePlace welcomes the Royal Commission into violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.
We need to unpack and acknowledge that violence, abuse and neglect that people with disability have experienced. It is now time for people with disability to be given the opportunity to be heard and for these experiences to influence how support services are provided.
HomePlace will support Participants and their families interact with the Royal Commission and tell their stories.
HomePlace will be open and transparent in relation to the Royal Commission and under no circumstances seek to hide or trivialise any negative information related to HomePlace.
